The last trip – Chevra Kadisha

Many members of the community, both women and men, work as volunteers with the Chevra Kadisha – the “holy community”. We offer:

• Comforting and supporting the dying
• The tahara, washing the dead
• Helping to organise the funeral and the shiva
• Supporting the family of the deceased

We follow all the ritual laws according to Jewish tradition.

The community has a reserved cemetery in the West cemetery in Cologne (Westfriedhof Köln-Bocklemünd). Members of the community can be buried alongside their non-Jewish partners.
